The new Mercedes S-Class has problems with the steering and therefore the model is recalled.
Mercedes S-Class generation W223 had its world premiere in September last year and as recently as December, large-scale production of the model began.
Now it turns out that the new S-Class is flawed in the steering, something that can jeopardize the safety and has the potential to lead to serious accidents. Therefore, Mercedes chooses to recall the new S-Class after just over a month in production.
According to a spokesperson for the company, which German Business Insider has been in contact with, there are about 1,400 cars worldwide. The owners of these are urged to immediately contact an authorized workshop for action.
It is a component fault in the steering that has been brought to the attention of a supplier to Mercedes. The component is manufactured and pre-assembled in its entirety before it is delivered to the factory in Sindelfingen where the S-Class is assembled.
