Tesla has announced new record deliveries of electric cars during the first quarter of 2021.
During January, February and March 2021, Tesla delivered 184,800 cars worldwide. This is a new quarterly record for the American electric car manufacturer. The previous record was set during the last quarter of last year with 180,570 delivered cars.
The figure for the first quarter of the year also exceeded that of 177,822 that the market expected.
Tesla said that a strong reason for the quarter’s fine figure is the Model Y deliveries in China. The new model Model Y has been built in Tesla’s new factory in Shanghai since last year.
The number of Tesla cars manufactured during the quarter amounted to 180,338, a slight increase from the previous quarter’s 179,757 cars.
