During the IAA Cars 2019 International Fair in Frankfurt on September 12-22, visitors can take advantage of the latest product news among BMW’s wide range, but also get a taste of new technology that will characterize tomorrow’s private car market.
The driving pleasure of the future is the theme of BMW’s presence at IAA Cars. During the fair, a series of news is presented, which is the result of the car manufacturer’s NUMBER ONE> NEXT strategy and demonstrates BMW’s innovation power in the future areas gathered within the D + ACES umbrella (Design, Automated Driving, Connectivity, Electrification and Services).
BMW Concept 4
The new BMW Concept 4 is BMW’s interpretation of the coupe of the future. Distinct kidneys, marked air intakes and sculpted surfaces give an immediate sense of the car’s performance. The car’s shape and design refer to legendary classics such as the BMW 328 and BMW 3.0 CSi, and sheds light on BMW’s long, successful history in the creation of high-quality coupes.

New BMW in Hydrogen NEXT
As one of the pioneers in electric mobility, the BMW Group is now preparing for the countless challenges of future mobility. This is clearly evident in the development of the fuel cell car, BMW in Hydrogen NEXT, which the visitors of IAA Cars will experience. By 2022, the BMW Group plans to present the next generation of fuel cell drive systems in a smaller series, based on the current BMW X5. BMW Group may begin to offer fuel cell cars by 2025 at the earliest, but the time for launch depends on market demand and other overall factors. Among other things, stable hydrogen infrastructure is required, which today in most countries is only in the development phase.
The world premiere of the new BMW X6
Debut for the third generation of the original Sports Activity Coupe (SAC). The BMW X6 combines the versatility of an X model with the aesthetics of a BMW Coupe. Visually, the BMW X6 is characterized by the optional BMW Laserlight and the illuminated BMW kidneys. The BMW X6 reaches the market in November 2019 and comes with four selectable engine options, including two M models.
Premiere for new BMW 1 Series
The third generation of the 1 Series continues to be a leader in its class thanks to powerful engines and the very latest chassis and control system technology. Two model variants are equipped with intelligent four-wheel drive through the BMW xDrive and the top model BMW M135i xDrive has a maximum power of 306 horsepower. The new 1 Series will be launched on September 28, 2019.
The premiere of new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé
The latest puzzle piece in an ongoing product offensive in the luxury segment in the form of a four-door sports car with a nerve-racking design and exclusive, spacious atmosphere. The launch will take place in September 2019 with three selectable engine alternatives with either four-wheel or rear-wheel drive.
Premiere for new BMW M8 Coupe and new BMW M8 Convertible
BMW M GmbH has launched a new offensive against the luxury car market with new high-performance sports cars. These are equipped with V8 engines with 625 horsepower, M TwinPower Turbo technology, and high-speed concept, eight-stage M Steptronic gearbox, M xDrive four-wheel drive and Active M diff brakes.
The premiere of new BMW 3 Series Touring
The sixth generation of the 3 Series Touring takes to the very latest engine and chassis technology to consolidate its position in the class as the foremost in driving dynamics and speed. Launching will take place on September 28, 2019, with a plug-in hybrid variant that connects to the summer 2020 offering.
Premiere for new BMW X1
The new BMW X1 has been equipped with a revised design and extensive engine and gear upgrades and comes with a wide range of model variants where a plug-in hybrid will be added in the spring of 2020.
Premiere for BMW Vision M NEXT
Visitors are also given a taste of the electrified future of BMW M. A sports car in the form of a 600-horsepower plug-in hybrid that takes the car from 0-100 km / h in three seconds and a range of 100 km electric motor for completely emission-free driving.
